OCT can perform stratified imaging of superficial, deep retina, outer retina, choroidal vessels and choroidal capillaries simultaneously. In addition, OCTA is sensitive to both transverse and axial blood flow and does not need contrast agents. It is fast in imaging and has a wide range of scans. Therefore, OCT can be used in the diagnosis of ophthalmic vascular diseases, such as choroidal neovascularization (CNV), retinal vein occlusion. It is of epoch-making significance to explore the pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy and other retinal vascular diseases.
